Put your booking page on your own domain

Connect a domain you own, such as book.yoursalon.com or yoursalon.com, add the DNS records Ordina shows you, and your page opens there. Pro and Business.

Your booking page can open on a domain you own instead of myordina.link/your-handle: a subdomain such as book.yoursalon.com, or your main domain, yoursalon.com. Customers see your own name in the address bar, and your myordina.link address keeps working beside it.

Who can connect one

  • Businesses on the Pro or Business plan, the free trial included.
  • An account that is not paused or suspended.
  • Identity verified, under Compliance: the same check as online payments. A domain makes a page look established, so it waits for that check.
  • The owner of the business. Team members do not see these controls.

Each business connects one domain. When you connect a main domain, its www address is added too where it can be, and sends people to your domain.

Subdomain or main domain

  • A subdomain (book.yoursalon.com) keeps the website you already have on yoursalon.com. Choose this if you have a website.
  • Your main domain (yoursalon.com) shows your booking page in place of anything on it now.

Connect it

  1. Open the Business tabOn Your page, under Your link.
  2. Type your domainConnect turns on once it is a full domain.
  3. ConnectThe records to add appear on the card.
  4. Add the recordsAt the company you bought the domain from.
  5. LiveYour page opens on your domain.

The records to add

After Connect, the card lists the exact records for your domain, each value with a Copy button. Use the values on the card: they are made for your domain, so this guide does not list them.

Your domain Record Name (Host)
A subdomain, book.yoursalon.com CNAME book
A main domain, yoursalon.com A @
The www address of a main domain (optional) CNAME www
Every domain: the record that proves it is yours TXT _ordina for a main domain, _ordina.book for book.yoursalon.com

The TXT record named _ordina proves the domain is yours. Its value is made for your business and this one domain, so copy it from your card. Your page does not go live until it is there, and it must stay for as long as the domain is connected: if it is removed, your page stops opening on the domain until you add it again.

If the domain is already used with another website host, the card also shows a second TXT record, named _vercel. Add that one too.

Adding the records at Namecheap

  1. Sign in to Namecheap, open Domain List and choose Manage next to your domain.
  2. Open the Advanced DNS tab.
  3. Under Host records, remove any record with the same Host as one you are adding. A new Namecheap domain comes with parking page records, a CNAME Record for www and a URL Redirect Record for @; remove those only when you connect your main domain (yoursalon.com), where they use the same Host as your records. For a subdomain such as book.yoursalon.com, leave them as they are.
  4. Choose Add new record for each record on your card:
    • A main domain: pick A Record, type @ in Host and the value from your card in Value.
    • A subdomain: pick CNAME Record, type the name from your card (for example book) in Host and the value from your card in Value.
    • The record that proves the domain is yours: pick TXT Record, type its name from your card in Host (_ordina for a main domain, for example _ordina.book for a subdomain) and copy its value from your card into Value.
    • A second TXT record named _vercel, if your card shows one: pick TXT Record, and type its name and value the same way.
  5. Leave TTL on Automatic and save each record with the green tick.
  6. Back on Your page, choose Check now.

If your domain's nameservers at Namecheap are not Namecheap BasicDNS (for example it uses Cloudflare), add the records wherever those nameservers are managed. Every DNS provider has the same fields, often under DNS, DNS records or Zone editor.

How long it takes

Most DNS changes show within an hour, and some take up to 48 hours to reach everyone. Ordina checks your domain on its own as well, so the card turns Live even if you never press Check now. Once it is live, the secure padlock (HTTPS) is set up for you.

What changes once it is live

  • Share link on Home, the link at the top of Your page and Your booking link in Store use your domain.
  • Your Secretary gives your domain when it sends people to your page, in the chat, on WhatsApp and on calls.
  • Links to your page in emails to your customers use your domain.
  • Search engines are told your domain is the main address of your page.
  • Your myordina.link address, and anything you printed with it, keeps working.

If it does not go live

  • Waiting for DNS for more than a day: check each record's Host and Value against the card, and that no other record uses the same Host.
  • Add the TXT record below. It proves the domain is yours: the _ordina TXT record is not there yet, or its value is not the one on your card. Copy the name and the value from the card again.
  • The TXT record that proves the domain is yours is missing: the _ordina TXT record was removed after your page went live. Add it again as the card shows it, and your page opens on the domain again at the next check.
  • Not reaching your page: the domain was live and a record changed. Put the records back as the card shows them.
  • This domain is used by another website on our hosting provider: remove it from that website's hosting first, then connect it again.
  • This domain is already connected to another Ordina business: a domain belongs to one business only. Write to help@useordina.com if it is yours.

Disconnect it

Choose Disconnect on the card and confirm. Within a minute your page stops opening on the domain, and your myordina.link address keeps working. Then remove the records you added at your domain provider, the TXT records included, so the domain cannot be pointed somewhere else without you.

No domain yet

The card shows a Get a domain from Namecheap link while no domain is connected. Choose a name, buy it there, then connect it with the steps above. You can also start here: Get a domain from Namecheap.

Ordina may earn a commission if you buy through this link.
