Set your working hours, timezone and capacity
Business hours per day, your timezone, days off, and how many appointments can run at once.
Your Secretary only offers times you have said you are open, so this is worth getting exactly right. Everything here is under Store → Profile.
Business hours
Each day of the week has an on/off switch and an opening and closing time. Switch a day off to mark it Closed; the Secretary will say so and offer the next open day. At least one day must be open.
Split shifts (open 9 to 1, then 3 to 7) are not a single setting yet. The simplest approach is to set 9 to 7 and create a recurring midday block in your Google Calendar; with calendar sync on, the Secretary treats that as unavailable.
Timezone
Set it once. Every slot the Secretary offers, every confirmation and every reminder uses it, and customers in other timezones see times converted for them.
Simultaneous appointments
This is your capacity: how many bookings can run at the same time.
- 1 for a solo business. No two customers can hold the same slot.
- 2 or more if you have chairs, rooms or staff. The Secretary keeps offering a time until that many bookings fill it.
Classes and group sessions use the same setting: a yoga class with 10 mats is capacity 10. See Run classes and group sessions.
Days off and holidays
Block them in Google Calendar (an all-day event) with sync connected, and the Secretary will not book over them. If you are closing for a longer stretch, also add a line to your knowledge base ("Closed 20 to 27 December") so the Secretary can tell people why.
Change your hours for one week only
Change them in Store, save, and change them back after. The Secretary picks up the new hours immediately. Appointments already booked are never moved by a change of hours.
